Jon Bernthal Joining Frank Darabont’s L.A. Noir?
The rumor going around right now is that Jon Bernthal, aka Shane on The Walking Dead, is considering the role of Joe Teague in Frank Darabont’s new TV show on TNT titled L.A. Noir. L.A. Noir is based on a cop named Joe Teague caught in the middle between mob boss Mickey Cohen, and Police Chief William Parker. As of right now, it is not known if Jon Bernthal will be leaving The Walking Dead. Frank Darabont created the ground breaking AMC series, but he was let go shortly into the filming of the second season. It is possible Jon Bernthal could star in both shows as long as L.A. Noir does not conflict with The Walking Dead’s shooting schedule.
Of course take this with a grain of salt, but it is also rumored that Jon Bernthal asked to be let out of his contract with The Walking Dead when he heard about the firing of Frank Darabont. For the people that don’t know, Jon Bernthal’s character Shane was killed off very early in the comics, so it is possible that AMC will do the same with his character on the show.
Filming has already been completed on season 2 of The Walking Dead so is it possible they have killed Shane off? I guess the only way to find out is to watch the last 6 episodes of the second season to find out if Jon Bernthal will continue on.

I hope they dont kill off Shane hes the best! How about killing Lori off she seems like the one who keeps getting into trouble, sleeping with your husbands best friend, getting knocked up,getting Glen almost killed for abortion pills, and now wasting precious gas to go get your husband then getting in a major car accident. Yeah she’s brilliant.
The group would probably be alot better off without her.

If they eliminate Shane I would be deeply disapointed. He is the glue that all the other characters interact with.I would still watch the show but without such fervant interest. It’s like three Beatles.Without him it may be an insurmountable hole for the show to fill. His character has the most range of depth and interest.Kill him and you might just kill the show.

Agreed. My favourite character/actor since day one. Jon Bernthal did such a good job of playing a complex character who makes Rick a better character. It’s too bad there wasn’t a way to make him go away for a while to come back later, but it would have been difficult to do without making it too gimmicky. The initial suggestion that Shane would go off with Randall and join his group was totally against his character, I think we all knew watching that scene that Shane was going to kill him.
He was awesome, but the show will go on. He was an integral part of Rick’s transformation Rick, who as fans of the comic know, strays away from the moral high ground every now and then and becomes more world weary.

I love Shane! The show wouldn’t be nearly as interesting without him! Also, the group needs him to survive.

Shane is the best character on that show, and a large portion of that success is a direct result of Jon Bernthal’s acting. Probably unintended, and certainly surprising to some, he has become the main lead. Without him, the show may disappoint a lot of fans, who really created the popularity spurt with their viewership. AMC should be cautious when they make decisions that could potentially affect the pockets in the long run. Shane is central at this point, and has a survival, get it done, type of attitude I would assume is needed in a ZA. Just my thoughts.
