Presuming a lot to say every fan would love to see him a part of it, arent you? Suffer a brain injury, recently? ‘The Walking Dead’ and the work that Romero have done are two different animals. Just because he’s been a part of some cult classics does NOT automatically translate into his being a good fit for TWD. He said himself that he used the zombies as ‘satire or political criticism.’ How does that fit TWD? TWD isnt about politics or making a statement on man’s inhumanity to man. Quite frankly, I was never a fan of zombies, until they were called ‘walkers,’ and that includes Romero’s work. By the way… ‘most successful zombie based television series to ever hit cable’? Did I miss something? I’m fairly certain TWD is the ONLY zombie based television series, on cable, or otherwise. TWD is a success because it’s GENUINELY GOOD TELEVISION. Let Romero stew in his own envy. Kirkland and company are doing fine without him.

He’s just butt hurt because he thinks he’s the only person that knows anything about zombie movies. He had the same shitty attitude in the town meeting interview for World War Z

I think this is sad. I love some of Romeros work, but he’s definantly wrong here.I mean you got the largest audience in the 18 to 49 year old demographic that watch this show. So they have to be doing something right for the show to be so popular

While I am a fan of Romero’s first three “Living Dead” movies, his movies suck compared to the Walking Dead. I’ve been a Zombie fan since the beginning and IMO Walking Dead is better than any Zombie movie I’ve ever seen. Romero may be “the father of all things Zombie, but he is certainly not the “king of Zombie movies”. Personally, I think his kind of politics or “political satire” would ruin The Walking Dead. Keep Romero away from TWD!!!!!

I don’t know..Romero makes a different kind of Zombie movie and if he doesn’t like “Walking Dead” then well..his loss. And yes he is the made the cannibal zombies mainstream and he is the king of Zombie films but, TWD is just different. TWD focuses on the survivors and not so much on the zombies. His kind of movie will last a hour in a half and everyone is dead. I do like his older stuff..the the stuff he is put out now..Is bad…yeah..bad.

I have enjoyed George Romero’s work for decades, but I think he is acting in state of immaturity for making a statement comparing “The Walking Dead” as a Soap Opera. I don’t watch soap operas, and consider what he says as an insult to my favorite show. I see TWD as an improvement and more realistic regarding a possible Zombie Apocalypse. If anything, George Romero could be a positive part of TWD, with all his experience in creating Zombie Films, just I feel Tom Savini could be a great input regarding Make-up and effects for TWD, and I am more than sure he would see the show as a great work of art. George don’t be so jealous, and give the show a chance. 🙂
