Boy, Rick sure has been through the ringer this season. Andy has always done a fantastic job in his portrayal, IMO, but this season he's really on another level.

Glenn and Abraham's violent deaths, Daryl's being held prisoner, Sasha and Maggie at Hilltop, Morgan and Carol gone. Then you have Spencer's betrayal and then death, Olivia's death, Carl running off, and of course, severe oppression by Negan and the Saviors.

We've seen him go from a state of shock/bewilderment, to being subdued, to submissive. Now though, he's got the fire lit, and he's got that Python back.

Can't wait to see MSP Rick!

 

I agree!! I swear if episode 1 of this season is not enough to get him recognized and nominated for an emmy....then I just throw my hands up in the air because that performance was nothing short of magnificent. Anyone is welcome to think what they will about the cliffhanger leading up to that episode. Anyone is welcome to think what they wish about the level of violence in that episode. But no one has any room to say anything negative about the performance that Andrew Lincoln delivered.

I will also go another step and give Gimple his due. He kept saying to give the episodes room to breathe (huge paraphrasing going on here), that by the end of episode 8 it would make sense. Well, I will give him that....I can now see the forest through the trees and understand the beats of each episode and why they were structured as they were (with the exception of "Swear", still my least favorite of the season thus far and still seems out of sync with the others).

Anywho, thanks for the gif compliment! I still have so much to learn but I have fun doing them!!
