in 2012 she and her husband lost their house, and i see stories around that time of being in bars and acting strange. that plus being only in her 50s makes me think it will be substance abuse taking its toll. what a shame.

 

One rumour is heroin overdose, but I really don't know.

She also suffered from a bout of depression, according to tonights news.

 

Also homeslessness. She and her husband were allegedly kicked out of their trailer park for their partying ways. I don't think the story is going to be particularly flattering. Might be better not to know.

 

i liked celebrity rehab. one thing i learned was that, after alzheimer's, the next most common brain damage in the united states is caused by alcohol. they showed some brain scans of people who sometimes seized. their brains had voids in them. so that's the image that comes to me when i hear stories of long-time drinkers who can't moderate their behavior--that it is not because of alcohol's obvious immediate influence, but that their brains are severely damaged and cannot tolerate even a small additional insult.

i.e., intolerable behavior at that point is most directly attributable to the brain damage, not the alcohol, although of course additional alcohol continues to destroy the brain.

 

Erin Moran, the former Happy Days child star who was found dead at her Indiana home over the weekend, likely died of cancer, according to the Harrison County Sheriff's Office and the county coroner.

A statement released by authorities Monday and confirmed by the Associated Press said that an autopsy found that Moran "likely succumbed to complications of stage 4 cancer." Toxicology tests were performed and results are pending, but "no illegal narcotics were found" at Moran's residence in New Salisbury, Ind., about 20 miles from Louisville, Ky.

The statement did not say what kind of cancer Moran had.

yes, who knows. i read stories of erin being the caretaker for her husband's mother. i wonder if she was being cared for herself. the story gets sadder and sadder.

 

I want to apologize in advance for this, but here was my very first initial thought when I heard of her passing....



It's true... it just creeped into my head. No idea why it did, but it did and I was powerless to stop it from happening.

 

Wow. This was unexpected. Chris Cornell, lead singer of Soundgarden and Audioslave died. Cause of death not known yet. He was in the middle of touring.
