    Hi.

I noticed that on the tv show they avoid calling the 'undead' Zombies.
And they really try to tell (like in interviews, talking dead and stuff like that) that the word Zombie doesn't exist in TWD universe.

But reading the comics, (i'm, not so far yet in the series) they DO call the 'undead' Zombies.
    Isn't that strange ?

What are your thoughts about this ?

Where in the comics? I read them for the first time earlier this year and do not recall seeing the word "zombie" used?

I remember them using the word zombies for the descriptions they print on the TPB's covers. In the comics, Rick's group either called them "roamers" or "lurkers" depending on their mobility or lack thereof.

First few issues they refer to them as zombies. I recall Glenn calling them that at least once.

Early on in the comics they referred to them as zombies. It was phased out, though. likely that Kirkman felt that referring to them as zombies was a cliche and decided to differentiate himself from other material to make himself stand out more.

Yeah they were called zombies quite often all the way until they got to the prison. Kirkman likely didn't make the decision to start calling them something else until after the book had already started.

That's weird, I thought they said The Walking Dead world was a world that existed without every knowing of a potential "zombie apocalypse"...

I don't think they really started saying that until the show came around.

You almost have to already assume in any zombie genre material that "zombies" anything doesn't exist or everyone would already know how to survive and rebuild society without a hitch

    In the 50's now.

Now it turns more to roamers and lurkers.
With a nice story of what is what.....
Roamers are the 'walkers' that walk the streets and stuff and follow you around (trying to get you)
Lurkers are the 'quiet' ones that surprise you, bite you in the ankle or inside/behind something, you don't notice until its (usually) too late.
