I haven't rewatched the episode yet but:

I believe after Sasha attacked Negan it was Carl who took the first 3 shots.
    Quick and level headed thinking.

Yep, somehow he switched from holding a assault rifle while the GPK held guns to them, then he had a pistol which he took the first few shots with, then had a rifle again... very ninja like

Carl basically saved the day here. His actions had a ripple effect and gave all the others the confidence to fight back at that exact moment. Had he not had the cajones to do what he did, that could have turned out a lot differently for Team Family.

Carl has been through so much in this world, so he is always on edge and ready to do what needs to be done. He has watched his father do something similar many times, so Carl is just doing what he knows and that is fighting.

Yea, it was another awesome scene that requires a little suspension of belief. Team Rick all had guns pointed at them and they had their weapons down. Yet when the moment hit, none of them were shot...except Rosita but she was hit during the ensuing battle. It was an awesome scene though, Carl fired the first shots of the war.

Logically, but in no way do they show that, and no one else had their weapons taken. It was just odd.

And not even just that he's been through so much.... the fact that he started at such a young age too. Imagine when he's an adult? His whole life will have basically been ZA.

Yeah! That might have been one of Carl's more badass moments. He immediately popped a cap into the 2 people nearest to him and then a third person. With the close proximity threats out of the way, he began to take aim at others.

Zombie-Sasha allowed him time to act and then his actions created an even larger distraction to help the rest of the ASZ people gain an advantage. It was pretty dope, yo!

I'm still wondering why neither the Scavengers nor the Saviors demanded Rick and his people to drop their weapons...

Scavengers couldnt do it because they already exceeded their word quota for the week.
Or to beat a dead horse... they f***ed up up up.

They were told to drop their weapons, to which Rick said: "No one drops anything."

Ah okay, thanks for information. Must have overherad this. Okay.
Still, had they insisted the Alexandrinians wouldn't have been able to turn the tabes and shoot first.
Plot convenience, I suppose. Nevertheless, it was great.

Yeh they could have demanded a little stronger lol. They did have the upper hand. But as you say, plot convenience.
I felt this season, aside from Negan, was the weakest writing yet. Hopefully next season they can pick up their game.
