    First time I've heard a message from z's.
    Wonder if it was just them hallucinating, or if the zombs are evolving...

    If a walker can really talk, it not only means he is retaining the control of his tongue and ears and related muscle groups, it also means he retains certain brain function to think and communicate. Perhaps, from a grander scale, it might not be a bad thing as this means somehow a cure might be possible and not all 'humanity' is lost once got bitten.

    I read this book many decades ago, I think it was an expansion on the Romero zombie universe. It was a bunch of short stories and one of them had the zombies indeed evolving. To the point some zombies became leaders and even had (yuck) relations with some humans.

    The zombies are evolving in the Romero universe. In Land of the dead, it gets pretty dumb.
