AMC has released a very quick look at the upcoming The Walking Dead mobile game, which we now know will be titled The Walking Dead: No Man’s Land. The game is being developed by Next Games and should release in early 2015.
This is not the kind of trailer that tells you a lot about gameplay, but it does seem to introduce some interesting new survivors and an intense walker-fueled scenario. Will the final game use the overhead perspective shown at the end of the clip?
Next Games says they want to capture the feel of the show.
“Our approach is to stay true to the main themes of the TV show: survival strategy, finding safety for your people, balancing between right and wrong and, of course, action when it comes to fighting against the hordes of walkers. We respect the creators of The Walking Dead immensely and want this game to portray the world they have created as closely as possible,” Next Games CEO Teemu Huuhtanen said in a press release.
The Walking Dead’s luck with video games have been hit and miss. The Walking Dead adventure games by Telltale Games are classics of the genre, and The Walking Dead Assault got solid reviews, but The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct was roundly thrashed. So let’s hope this is one of the good ones.
