Kim Dickens Will Be Female Lead in The Walking Dead Companion Series
AMC’s The Walking Dead companion series has cast another key role. Kim Dickens, whom you might know from Sons of Anarchy or this summer’s Gone Girl, will be the female lead opposite Cliff Curtis (Gang Related).
Dickens will play a female guidance counselor who is in a relationship with Curtis’ character, a divorced teacher who is described as “a good man trying to do right by everyone in his life.” Deadline says the character “looks like the girl next door but has a darkness to her, a troubled past that will come back to haunt her.”
Her character has two children, who will be played by Frank Dillane (Harry Potter and Half-Blood Prince) and Alycia Debnam Carey (who co-starred in Into the Storm with The Walking Dead alum Sarah Wayne Callies). Dillane’s character is unfortunately saddled with a drug problem during the apocalypse. Carey’s character is described only as “ambitious.”
It was also recently reported that the pilot will be set in Los Angeles, although it’s not clear if it will actually be filmed there. The pilot is still untitled, going by the code-name Cobalt.
