SDCC2015: iZombie Panel Reveals Trouble Ahead For Liv
The iZombie Season Two panel took place at SDCC Friday, courtesy of The CW. Sitting on the panel were executive producers Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero-Wright, cast members Robert Buckley (Major), Rahul Kohli (Ravi), Rose McIver (Liv), Malcolm Goodwin (Clive), David Anders (Blaine), and Aly Michalka (Peyton).
As you might expect if you saw the first season finale, the second season is going to begin in a dark place. We left off with Major furious that Liv never trusted him with her secret. Her roommate and best friend Peyton split for Europe after discovering the truth (but she will be back, the panel revealed). On top of that, Liv was forced to deny her brother a life-saving blood transfusion, in the presence of her mother. What neither relative knew was that going Bro that blood would have zombified him, and that Liv had no choice. But now the consequences will be that she has no friends or allies at all, besides her workplace partners.
Blaine warned Liv that displacing him as head of the zombie food racket he’d been operating would plunge the city into chaos. Things won’t exactly be apocalyptic, but they won’t be hunky-dory either. Another enemy Liv made was Vaughn, the head of Max Rager, who has now vowed to have every zombie in Seattle hunted down and killed. As Rob Thomas revealed to Entertainment Weekly, “The zombies on the offensive in season 1 are going to be on the defensive. It will make strange bedfellows of Blaine and Liv, who are both concerned about the dwindling zombies in season 2.”
Things won’t be all gloom and doom, though — iZombie started as a more lighthearted take on the zombie mythos and it will remain so, with a chief portion of the humor coming from the brains Liv eats that alter her personality. In Season 2 Liv will become a singing guitar-strummer, a crotchety old man, a fratboy bro, and a “Real Housewife of Seattle,” among others.
If you haven’t started watching this great show, you’re missing out. Season 2 of iZombie will begin October 6 on The CW.
