Millions Watch Season Finale

The Walking Dead Season finale ended just as perfectly as when the show began, with millions of people watching.  When AMC ventured out and started The Walking Dead nobody knew how well it would do or if it would even really work. As with most shows, movies and even music…only time tells how popular something is or what the people really like.  In the case of The Walking Dead, it is quickly becoming a show to reckon with, especially after The Walking Dead Season finale.

The Walking Dead Season finale, which happens to be episode 6, drew and estimated 6 million viewers and we can be assured the return of the show in October 2011. The Walking Dead Season finale easy won out the 18-49 year old demographic and the show is on its way to become a hit.  In fact, The Walking Dead is the most watched TV Drama ever watched in cable history.  The Walking Dead Season finale packed in a record amount of people with 4 million people in the age group of 18-49, and The Walking Dead series averaged 3.5 million viewers per episode.

The show premiered on October 31st, 2010 and was shown in 120 countries and in 33 languages.  The Walking Dead is AMC’s first wholly owned production and it is setting records for ratings and audiences worldwide.  The Walking Dead Season finale ended a short season that began so successful and it gave AMC the power and backing it needed to push the television series to the next level.  We can expect season 2 of The Walking Dead to start in the fall, or maybe even sooner.  Until then we can expect the same great show that was produced from opening day to the The Walking Dead Season finale.
