How did it go for your new assignment about the weather? The weather is fascinating. Does it flashflood often where you live? Meteorology is awesome! That was my passion before social work. :-) That's a good idea to handwrite it before you send it in. It's okay mistakes will happen. Sometimes reading it aloud helps.

I enjoy doing things out of the ordinary too. The historical museum must've been fascinating. Modern technology is great and who knows what's in store for the future. Imagine how it will be 50 years from now...when things like the IPhone6 and Tablet will be probably be outdated...just like record players, the huge old radios they had in the 40s and 50s. Technology is always moving fast.

This week I went roller-skating twice and to my friend's exercise class. My goal is to be more active so that I have more energy, lose a few lbs and feel better about myself. I have times where I'm really active and other times where I'm not, so I'm doing my best to get on track again.

Oh good, I'm glad to hear checking your math again helped. The space to show your work is great. I remember I barely passed a mid-term...I got a 70 and if not for me showing my work, I prolly would've failed.

You have so much time to consider your options for what you want to be when you grow up. Sometimes, you may go in one direction, and then another, unexpectedly. There's hospice and so many things out there. What are you most interested in, right now?

Auto-correct is hilarious! On tablets, phones, etc.

This week...I went to Pennsylvania last Thursday and Friday with my mother. We visited Lancaster County--where the Amish live. We had a wonderful time. We went to see the Dutch Apple Theater. It's like dinner and a show. We saw "Million Dollar Quartet" about Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins. The next day we went to Sight and Sound Theater and saw "Samson". Sight & Sound is like the Bible on Broadway. They do stories from the Bible. I really love it! It always touches me personally. It's like I'm going through something and the message speaks to what I'm experiencing. They used the story of Samson to bring out the theme of God's grace. It was beautiful. We also did the buggy ride with an Amish man managing the horse. There were visitors with us from Georgia and Tennessee. We went on a bus trip with other trip--I really needed that break. Fun and relaxing!

That's good to send it to your Beta. They will pick up things you overlooked. I can't tell you how many times that after I posted my fic on FFN...that's when the errors jump out to me. And this is after I spell-checked, read my fic, printed it out, and proofread a hard copy. I think our mind substitutes words...like we read what we intended so it's great to have an extra pair of eyes. The tablet doesn't have a spellcheck?

When you write about the weather, what will you write about? The weather is a fascinating topic! I love clouds and storms. I wanted to be a meteorologist or a storm chaser before becoming a social worker. It's okay to double check your work. It's not overreacting, you're just learning from your experience to double check your work. It's been said that your first answer is usually your right answer...so it could be that your brother doesn't want you to overthink it.

17 more courses! Ai-yi-yi! That's a lot! Two years will fly by! Have you started the wild dog for your art exam?

Aww, no...definitely check your math! It's one of those things that a second review can help you catch errors. Math is ugh...Do you still get partial credit if some of your math problems were correct? I mean that if you show the work as you were solving the problem--that you can get some credit for that? When I took my mid-terms and finals, the proctor told us not to throw out the scrap, to include it with the exam so that the teachers can review what we did and give us partial credit. I don't know if they still do that.

Perfectionism can be difficult. I remembering so afraid of messing up during my field placement for grad school that I almost avoided doing an important assignment --- create and facilitate a memory group for seniors in the senior center. I kept putting it off because of fear of failure and wanting to do a perfect job---until my field instructor told me mistakes wouldn't make me a failure. Not doing the assignment at all--then I failed. I guess I share that to say that you're definitely giving it your best, and it's always excellent to aim high. If you miss the notch, keep trying--keep at it. At the same time, try not to be too hard on yourself. Perfectionism can be a real thorn.

Hey, how are you feeling? Pinkeye sucks and I hope the medication is helping you. Hopefully, you'll get to attend another summer session in the library. Wow, 4.0! Congrats! You're doing awesome and try not to worry too much about the 3.7 because that's still incredible! Are you applying to college soon? Your grades are very good, I'm sure you'll attend wherever you choose. I'm glad the Elements of Style was helpful--especially with grammar. What else is going on for you? I'm finally catching up on posts and fanfic.
