Taking this to the Praise thread.

 

They don't follow the comic exclusively. But to ignore it completely, would only result in skipping some very good material.

 

Yeah there is one frame of the scene where you can see her face. The long hair is what threw me too.

 

I actually loved this episode and as one of the cliffhanger protesters I thought they did a good job with resolving it and bringing the tension back. But I'm a bit confused as to why some people are getting so riled up about people complaining... on the complaints thread lol.

I guess my only complaint was Rick managing to get out of an impossible situation without being bitten.

I agree with you that Glenn's dumpster "death" is probably the worst move that the show has ever done (worse than Beth's silly attack on Dawn for me - which was so unrealistic/out of character/pointless etc.)...However, as someone who has contributed so much to this forum and really enjoyed the show, it does seem a shame if you leave...

 

Guess what...Steven is the one that pushed for and asked to get Glenn's comic death. It was too iconic to give to someone else. Steven's words. And I agree.

 

Agreed. All the best parts of the show are not in the comic. Beth. The hospital arc. Tyreese, Morgan, and Andrea being stupid. Carl shooting Jody. Rick losing his ****ing mind after Lori died. Season 2 drama. The CDC. Etc.

Whereas all the worst stuff is either directly ripped from or deeply inspired by the comics. The entire premise. No Way Out. Rick vs the claimers. Negan. The termites. Too Far Gone. Etc.


Oh wait, today isn't Opposite Day? Well in that case, switch best and worst and you're insane.

 

I liked the Season 2 drama. Really helped to develop the characters. The Claimers lasted what, 2 episodes? Just like the Wolves and Termites...brief meaningless rather easily defeated poorly written enemies. Lots of great potential to develop any or all of those, but no...cartoonish poorly written bits thrown in just to get the story from point A to point B. No exploration as to who these people were, why they acted the way they did, nothing. Big build up..they show up..act somewhat evil, get dispatched by our heroes and we move on. As to Negan being in the "best" of column from the comics, please....if you think this buffonish, juvenile, walking cartoon of a villain is a good character, then you may be the one who is insane.
