    Didn't know whether to put this here or in the music section, but this is a game, so...

    Correct responder asks the next question and so on. All I ask is that you make your question at least REASONABLY "getable" please.

    Difficult as it is, try your best to make your questions "Google-proof". More fun.

    Here we go, and good luck!

    Name for me the group who's band name is an acronym of it's four members who had a #1 hit with a song which was ALSO a four
    letter acronym (I believe the only instance of this ever happening).

    Also acceptable is the title of said song (though if you've got the one, you've
    probably got the other).

    Hint: It was also the theme of a tv show.

    @PepperAnn
    @Dnae
    @Sebrebc
    @Neuropyramidal
    @Lindigo
    @JEA13
    @Poor Mika
    @KiernansFaerie
    @Morgotha
    @DeadZedHead
    @offrope

    Apologies to anyone I've left out, no slight intended. Any and all welcome!

    No you won't.

    Answer's incorrect, though.

    Let's start to narrow it down.

    New clue: this song is considered by most music historians to be the first #1 of the disco era.

    ABBA is a great guess; usually the first reply given. The name IS an acronym for the 4 band members (Agnetha, Björn, Benny & Anni-Frid/Frida), but their only single release that was an acronym was S.O.S. which did not reach #1.

    OK.

    I believe this is correct info.

    This song is the only song to reach the US top 5 in 3 different versions.

    The original hit #1 in the 60s
    A remake was #1 in the 70s
    A 2nd remake hit #3 in the 80s

    As a part 2, when the 70s remake hit #1, it was the 2nd song to hit #1 in 2 versions. The first song to do it was written by the same songwriters. See if you can get this too.

    Naked City, you are correct.

    Little Eva 1962 #1
    Grand Funk 1974 #1
    Kylie Minogue 1987 #3

    You get the next question.

    BTW, the songwriters were Carole King/Gerry Goffin who also wrote "Go Away Little Girl" Which hit #1 for Steve Lawrence in 1962 and Donny Osmond in 1971

    There have been 9 songs do this:

    1 “Go Away Little Girl” — Steve Lawrence (1963) and Donny Osmond (1971)
    2 “The Loco-Motion” — Little Eva (1962) and Grand Funk (1974)
    3 “Please Mr. Postman” — The Marvelettes (1961) and The Carpenters (1975)
    4 “Venus” — Shocking Blue (1970) and Bananarama (1986)
    5 “Lean on Me” — Bill Withers (1972) and Club Nouveau (1987)
    6 “You Keep Me Hangin’ On” — The Supremes (1966) and Kim Wilde (1987)
    7 “When a Man Loves a Woman” — Percy Sledge (1966) and Michael Bolton (1991)
    8 “I’ll Be There” — The Jackson 5 (1970) and Mariah Carey (1992)
    9 “Lady Marmalade” — Labelle (1975) and Christina Aguilera / Lil’ Kim / Mýa / Pink (2001)

    I'll go ahead and do another one.

    What group, known for making some of the greatest singles of all time, never hit #1 on the charts. They hit the top 4 seven times in a two year span including 5 times at #2 but never all the way.

    Good question. Got a few names rattling in my brain. I'll open with Earth, Wind & Fire. Don't know if they ever hit #1, but their songs were many and huge.
